What are the best programs out there to do what makes Adobe Suite on Linux?
I would like to start work on Linux (Kubuntu) and I am looking for programs that manage to get all the work we do today in Adobe Suite on Linux. Can anyone advise me on what program should I use? Something similar to Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Flash. I can live without Dreamweaver. Thnx!
I use Ubuntu. There is an answer to Linux for everything except Flash. JavaFX is fast development and provide Flash / SMS Silverlight effects in pure code (without even editing environment, but they showed a demo at JavaOne). You can run the tool Flash authoring oldest Linux using a Windows emulator called WINE. Wine not run Adobe Suite. Gimp = Photoshop. InDesign is krap to start. You can make page layouts with Scribus, but let me tell you, Scribus is very similar to the original Aldus Pagemaker. Inkscape is a vector art program can very similar to Illustrator. FontyPython recommend to the management of sources. Since I switched to Linux, I never lost the products you mentioned, but I would add that it took some time to adjust. But hey, remember back around the time you spent learning how to make Adobe products make and implement solutions that time for Linux. Keep a box Win available with a good anti-virus software on it. You will need to ensure that any product produced in art Linux web and downloads not affect other computers of the window. But in reality, Linux is the fastest solution for graphics and programming.
