photoshop animated gif tutorial

How do I turn the video into an animated gif?
Okay, so recently got Adobe Photoshop CS4. I've seen tutorials on how to make video in an animated GIF with Photoshop, but all the tutorials I've seen are for older versions of Photoshop and not help me with this version. I already have the video, and edited, I think I'm saving bad. (and yes I am saving it as a. gif file. but the only option they have to. gif says "CompuServe GIF") help?
I have CS3, and I'm sure there's a way to make animated gifs. … But we have not discovered yet. So I save myself the trouble and download Animated Gif program. There are plenty out there so it's not hard to find. And they're easy to use.
