Partial black and white in Photoshop CS4?
I have seen how to make a black and white photo in Photoshop CS3 part, but I have not been able to find a tutorial on how to do it in Photoshop CS4. I have CS4 version. I know the basics of how to configure it, but I can not work. Or the rubber brush evil ends erasing method. Can anyone help out? Thanks Heather!
Basically, you take a color image in a layer, duplicate layer, convert the top layer to black and white. Then apply a layer mask to black and white layer (Layer> Layer Mask> Reveal All – there are other ways achieve this, but it is simpler to write). The mask layer must be white. Use a black brush to paint on the place where you want the color to show across. Black box on the white mask shows what's underneath. The benefit of this on the draft is that if you make a mistake, simply switch to white paint and paint over the area you want to cover. Just make sure you are painting on the mask * *, not the layer itself (click on the mask in the layers palette first if you are not sure – although it is pretty obvious if you painted a white line on the image front if the color shows through the bottom).
