Why are some of the brushes in Photoshop Elements 7.0 transparent when used. The opacity is 100%.?

I'm quite new in Photoshop Elements and I downloaded some new brushes for the use of fruits, sporting goods, etc. When I use the result is a very transparent. My opacity is set at 100%.
