How to create folders blending mode in Photoshop Elements?

In this http://abduzeedo.com/photoshop-quick-tips-4-color-dodge-blend-mode-light-effects link, which says something about it only works if you have the folder set blending mode to Color Dodge. This is a Photoshop tutorial, but I have Photoshop Elements. I wondered how to create a folder for layers in Photoshop Elements. Thanks in advance!

In the group of Photoshop layers in a "folder". The elements that can link layers of the selection of each layer CTRL, click the network icon in the top of the Layers palette, but can not group them. (I tried to use a linked group but once the layers are linked, the blending mode is grayed out). The only thing you can do to make this tutorial work is to make all your layers, and Then, starting at the top of the Layers palette, right click and click Merge Down until you get all the layers would be in a group of Photoshop / Folder merged together. Then give this merged layer blending mode Color Dodge.
